Would counseling help me?

If your ability to function in your social, work, or school setting is being affected by personal or relational issues, and your attempts to solve them have been unsuccessful (or if they seem overwhelming to you), counseling may be helpful for you. Counseling gives you the opportunity to discuss these issues with a mature and caring individual who has been trained to help you overcome these obstacles in an atmosphere of safety and confidentiality.
People who are depressed may find their mood lifting. Others may no longer feel afraid, angry or anxious. Clients' ability to cope with problems may improve greatly. They may get more satisfaction out of social and family relationships. Their personal goals and values may become clearer. They may grow in many directions—as persons, in their close relationships, in their schooling, and in their ability to enjoy their lives.
